Inseparable
“Joy and sorrow are inseparable. . . together they come and when one sits alone with you . . remember that the other is asleep upon your bed."

Joy and sorrow are two constant companions, inseparable and intertwined - moments of pain and struggle coexist with moments of celebration and triumph. Knowing that sorrow and joy are part of the same cycle helps us embrace both, finding balance and strength. Joy feels deeper and more meaningful because we’ve experienced sorrow, and sorrow becomes bearable with the hope of joy’s return. Being a Joyful Queer means holding space for both, understanding that each enriches the other and together they shape the fullness of our lives.
