Is It Art?
When we create art, a rush of joy and pride fills us, lighting our hearts with excitement and validation. Our internal dialogue bolsters our identity as a Joyful Queer. We glow. Yet too often, an inner “devil” or outer critic asks if it’s really art, implying that it may fall short of that lofty goal. We must refuse to let that doubt derail us. The act of creating - whether a sketch, a poem, or a performance - is its own triumph. By honoring the genuine delight that comes from the creative process and silencing the critical voices that creep in from random corners, we reclaim our power. Even the best artists can fall prey to Imposter Syndrome. Don't - trust the joy instead.
