The Openings

Creativity begins with the courage to crack open a door - to start, even if we don’t know what comes next. For queer creators, that first sentence can be revolutionary: a declaration, an invitation, a spark that says this story matters because I exist to tell it. Whether we’re writing, painting, performing, or simply living out loud, our beginnings carry magic. They don’t have to be perfect; they just have to be true. Every first sentence we dare to write pushes open a world where queer voices shape the narrative, where our realities aren’t just included - they’re central. And that’s where the joy lives: in knowing we are the authors of our own becoming.
