The Same Coin
"He who has not looked on Sorrow will never see Joy."

Joy and sorrow are two sides of the same coin - one cannot be fully understood without the other. For Queer people, the moments of sorrow we face - rejection, struggle, or loss - can deepen our appreciation for the joy we find in love, community, and self-discovery. It’s through facing life’s challenges that we learn to savor its beauty more fully. Being a Joyful Queer means embracing the whole spectrum of our experiences, knowing that our capacity for joy grows from the resilience we build in sorrow. Each moment of joy shines brighter because of what we’ve overcome.
